Vehicle design is a strategic differentiator that draws consumers into a brand all over the world. Though car design in India is still in its infancy, automakers are expanding their design capabilities to meet changing market and customer lifestyle trends.

Furthermore, given the prevalence of coffee chains in the country, many of which did not exist three to four years ago, an increasing number of professionals who drive to work almost every day would prefer vehicles with adequate cup holders. Consumers may be disappointed or irritated if these basics are missing.
In the coming years, the ergonomics trend will be driven by safety, comfort, and convenience. When it comes to car interior colors, black is the most popular. As part of our trend analysis and cycle, it is considered as a reflection of premium design; however, lighter hues will eventually replace this trend.

The rising popularity of UVs
The Utility Vehicle (UV) segment has risen at an exponential rate over the years. The segment has seen cars with a variety of looks, ranging from stylish or compact MPVs to premium and luxury SUVs – a trend that will continue for the next three to four years.
UVs are undoubtedly improving and innovating in terms of design. UV traits, such as higher seats and a more robust appearance, are expected to spread to other segments, according to a special trend forecast. This means that in the next four to five years, the next generation of cars will be born from a hybrid, which is a combination of key characteristics from various segments such as sedans and hatchbacks, as well as a UV.
Designing affordable EVs

Furthermore, in a conventional IC engine vehicle, the engine is housed in the front hood, where it serves as part of the crash-absorption system, whereas the front area of an EV is typically empty. To ensure impact durability and distribute weight, car designers will have to consider where the batteries will be placed in the electrified version.
