After 18 weeks of workshops, follow-ups, and development to prepare their project on the theme "Slow" response, the multidisciplinary groups of students from the participating schools, present their solution to the jury!
To recap, 23 students are participating in the Design & Science University Paris Saclay Prize in multidisciplinary groups. These students come from 5 participating schools: T̩l̩com ParisTech, Ecole Polytechnique, Ecole Normale Sup̩rieure Paris РSaclay, Central Sup̩lec, and Strate which organizes and directs the Design & Science University Paris Saclay Prize.
The Design & Science University Paris Saclay Prize nominates students from different but complementary fields to challenge their concepts and trigger an innovation in their field by applying the methodologies of a designer—from Design Thinking to Design Doing.
The Design & Science University Paris Saclay Prize has been conceptualized with 3 partners:
- Universcience, the Palace of Discovery and the City of Science and Industry, which provides the two venues for hosting the workshops every week.
- Laval Virtual, an international festival of virtual technologies and their uses, which offers a stand to the winning team during its event.
- InProcess, a strategic innovation agency, which will incubate the winning team to continue the development of the project.
What is the Design & Science University Paris Saclay Prize?
The Design & Science University Paris Saclay Prize brings together students from engineering, business and design schools on an annual theme. Divided into small groups, they devote a semester to contemplate projects based on thirty-odd sample research tracks. Their scientific and design ingenuity and resources are brought into play. Teachers from each school supervise them; artists, designers, lawyers specializing in innovation intervene; students are invited to the innovation laboratories of the companies partnering with the Design & Science University Paris Saclay Prize.
The best projects are awarded and financial aid is made available to the students to develop their ideas.
The most successful ideas are presented in public, and it is possible that one or more of these projects will grow into a start-up.
