Strate’s Transportation/Automobile Design course is not merely a car design course; it is a new way to redesign and reimagine mobility solutions of the future.
With changing times, desirable solutions should be reinvented in ways that promote sustainability and responsibility. Strate’s Transportation Design course trains designers of tomorrow, who will be able to develop a transversal and global vision of these transportation issues (whether they deal with cars, public or individual transport, aeronautics, ships, etc.) with a double exigency in terms of formal and conceptual excellence.
A world leader in design education, Strate brings its 24-year old teaching lineage to India providing global design education. Strate School of Design offers the perfect foundation for upcoming designers to showcase their talent and make a career out of their passion. Over the years, Strate School of Design has built strong partnerships with major French and international schools and universities to offer its acclaimed courses to aspiring designers across the globe.

Automobile/Transportation Design is a field that’s fast-evolving with ground-breaking ideas right now. External factors, such as the economic and energy crisis require the automotive industry to re-invent itself. And at Strate, we are training those who will contribute closely to this industry tomorrow. The industrial, economic, and societal (r)evolutions, often related to sustainable issues, that lie ahead in this beginning of century encourage us to devise transportation solutions that are both sustainable and responsible.
Over the past few years, car exterior and interior design are gaining immense popularity in India owing to the influx of newer and stylish cars. Breakthroughs in and demand for ergonomic design have only amplified the need for car designers.
India is aiming for 100% e-mobility by 2030. It thus sets the trend for electric vehicles (EVs) in the market. In 2015, sales of passenger cars crossed two million units. Companies have taken note of this fact and are actively pursuing design graduates. They are looking for those who have the ability to visualize and produce works that not just have an artistic appeal but also create a social, cultural, and economic impact.
Strate’s comprehensive internship process involves students taking up 18 months of internship throughout the duration of their course. 6 months of the internship will be spent abroad learning the nuances of the global design industry.
Transportation Design usually involves the design of three main segments of a vehicle or automobile: exterior, interior, and color and trim design. Opportunities in the automobile/car design arenas include,
and many more.
"I’ve been fascinated by cars since I was a little boy and loved to spend my time drawing or creating vehicles of all kinds. I chose Strate over other design schools because of its growing reputation in the automotive sector. I was impressed by the variety and quality of the projects exhibited by both the students as well as the Institution.”
"Strate taught me the basics of design with its broad-based vision (product and marketing) and compliance with the methodologies for starting up on my ideas. It also helped me to quickly understand the importance of controlling all types of projects simultaneously. Today, I use the knowledge that I gained at "Strate" to develop and enrich the products I design for human transportation.”
